The 2010 NADA Conference came to a successful end on Friday, February 26.  Lee Green led the charge as our keynote speaker for the highly attended conference.  Some of the key hightlights of the conference:

  • LTC courses offered were 612, 504, & 506 - all at Sparks High School
  • Two of our members took the CAA exam
  • Professor Lee Green was our keynote speaker on legal issues facing athletics - Lee Green Site
  • Tim Flannery on NFHS Coaching Education - NFHS Learn Site
  • Motivational Speaker Mike Wood - Mike Wood Pathways
  • Jerry Hughes retired as executive director of NADA - founding father of NADA
  • Bob Northridge took the helm of NADA as executive director

After conference meetings several issues were address and will be cleared up for our 2011 conference in Las Vegas.  These issues were:

  • 4A League meetings - they will take place
  • Agendas for meetings will be available
  • Better communication to attendees on parking and such
  • 4A South league dues to be collected
  • Push for more CAA's among all AD's and AA's

Special thanks to all those who set up this years conference.  Special thanks to Charlie Walsh for his hospitalitiy at Sparks High School hosting our LTC courses and to Warren Hagman for setting up the courses.  Upcoming events to watch out for are our meetings in Mesquite in August and the national conference in Orlando in December.

Lee Green is a an awesome speaker and provides great insights to legal issues facing athletic departments around the country.  The course Mr. Green is teaching is a required class in obtaining your CAA cerification.  Attached are registration forms for attending LTC courses and how to earn universtity credits for taking LTC courses.

The Silver Legacy and the NIAA has a block of 25 rooms for NADA participants.  They can register online or call but they will need to let the hotel know that they are with the Sterling Club and pass code is NIAA.  The rate will be $49.99 per night Wednesday & Thursday . The rate is higher for the weekend at $89 per night Friday and Saturday.  All registrants will get a booklet with coupons for various venues at the hotel.

The Holiday Inn (not the old on on 4th) in Sparks has $55 room rates for all nights.  This is the hotel that will be housing the south basketball teams and coaches.  To contact the hotel for room rates - 775 358-6900.
